The sales and marketing effort is oftentimes the difference between success and failure for new properties. Bookshelves are filled with manuals providing direction on how to promote and manage the sales effort for hotels; yet, they lack imagination and create dull, monotone hotels that simply trudge along. The sales and marketing effort is where imaginative promotional thinking can distinguish a property, give it personality and cause people to make the choice to stay with us, as well as return to us, rather than the competition. Product imaging drives first time visits. Experiencing a true Escape drives loyalty causing them to return and tell their friends.
Sales – Each property has a carefully constructed and individualized Sales and Marketing Plan with a collateral Action Calendar. The key to success is our unique approach to self-promotion. We focus on creatively drawing attention to our projects and educating our audience about the excitement of Escaping! The skeletal structure of the action calendars is similar for each inn with the specifics honed to the local and regional calendar of events and recreational opportunities at each property. They call for creative, labor intensive, fun, promotional activities that serve to further identify and infuse each property with the personality we have designed specifically for each project.
Local and Regional Community Involvement – It is imperative that the upper and middle management staff members maintain high profiles in their community by participating in civic events, serving on boards, donating over- night guest room packages and dinners for carefully selected charitable events, and participating in selective radio and television promotion. Participation at a high level in the Visitors Bureaus and Chamber are requisite. Our managers actively participate in all promotional sales activities.
Advertising – Web sites are the current and future mainstays for our advertising dollars. We have excellent long-term relationships with our graphics and web designers who infuse our web sites with the elements that spark the emotional reaction we seek from future patrons. Our web pages are continually updated and upgraded to stay current and cutting edge. We continue to build our links to key romance, leisure travel and wedding sites.
